Important Notes ( please read )
My translations are (more often than not) inaccurate!
I am not a translator and have no background in translating. However, I do try my best to make my translations make sense so even if I get the details wrong, the general gist of everything should still be correct. In most cases, I prioritize sentence and word flow so sentences may not be direct translations but something entirely different with the same meaning (like an English equivalent). I am still in the midst of figuring things out so this may change in the future.
If you see any mistakes in my translations, please feel free to point them out. Please. I need all the help that I can get. |
I currently have no interest in officially picking up a project.
I tend to pick up a couple chapters here and there on projects that have been dropped or have never been started. I do this not only to help improve my Chinese but also in hopes of getting more interest for a particular project.
If you would like to take over a specific project, there is no real need to ask me for permission. Simply let me know (so that I don't continue with the translations) and I'll gladly hand it over. |
All names and Chinese terms are written in Pinyin (with their accent marks).
This is because it's my preference and because I think it's a helpful detail. Since most Chinese characters have four different tones, readers will easily be able to differentiate between different character names even if it has the same spelling. For example, 月 and 約 are both spelled "yue" but only with Pinyin, can you see that they are different. 月 is yuè while 約 is yuē. All Chinese terms (written in Pinyin) will be italicized.

Why do I use a Chinese term (Pinyin) over the English translation?
I tend to choose Chinese terms when it's a title. For familial titles, the English language breaks it down into simple terms: aunt, uncle, cousin. In Chinese, these terms are broken down and then some: paternal aunt older than my father (gūmā), paternal aunt younger than my father (gūgū), wife of father's older brother (bómǔ), wife of father's younger brother (shěnshěn).
Every now and then, I will also use Chinese terms for things that aren't familial titles but things I also believe are important. But don't worry, I will always provide a glossary at the beginning of each chapter! |
